New frog species found in NYC

(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Scientists have identified a new species of leopard frog in and around New York City. The frog was found hiding in plain sight on the borough of Staten Island.
"It is very surprising for a new species like this to have been unrecognized in this area until now," Rutgers University doctoral candidate Jeremy Feinberg, who made the initial discovery, said according to a press release from the school.
Researchers say the new frog species was confused for a long time with a frog it closely resembles, the southern leopard frog. Their findings were published in Molecular
