Google (CBS News) Google may release its first tablet computer in July. The search engine giant is said to be launching a co-branding Android device.

According to a report by The Verge, Google has partnered with Taiwan-based Asustek Computer to produce a 7-inch Wi-Fi-only tablet. The tablet is said to be priced at $249 and will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The tablet's size and price take direct aim at Amazon's Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble's Nook tablet, which both start at $199.
Google did not immediately respond to CBS New's request for comment.
